MAI - Single Key Mazak Access Interlock

| The MAI is single key access interlock suitable for use on hinged and sliding doors. The interlock has an open cavity design and is manufactured in a durable aluminium alloy and comes with the brass figure or Q type lock portions. The lock is ideally suited for use in dry, non-corrosive environments where the lock is subject to light to medium use. Typical industries using the MAI are Packaging, Automotive and steel | ||||

| Under normal operating conditions the key is free and the sidebolt is trapped in the lock. The sidebolt can only be released when the key has been inserted and turned. With the sidebolt removed, the key is trapped within the lock. | ||||

|
The MAI is designed to operate as part of an integrated safety system, controlling access to hazardous areas. A typical example of machine isolation and access control is shown below.

The removal of the isolation key in the KS20, isolates the electrical supply to the machine. This key is then used to unlock the MAI interlock on the access door. The guard can only be opened when the electrical supply has been switched into a safe condition. |
