| The Olympus 4 HD is a heavy duty solenoid controlled access lock available with either a stainless steel tongue actuator or heavy duty handle.The Olympus 4HD is capable of supporting Category 4 safety systems through it’s 2NC 1NO contacts and is suitable for all types of hinging or sliding access points with a good tolerance for misaligned guarding. The unit is locked by the solenoid when it is de-energised and opened when energised. A mechanical key over-ride facility for the solenoid comes as standard. The Olympus 4HD is ideals suited to use on production cells and automated production and assembly lines where fast access is required. | ||||

When the machinery is in operation the access door is locked via the de-energised solenoid in the Olympus 4HD. To open the guard, the machine is instructed to stop via the controll circuit, on stopping a signal is sent to the solenoid, which energises and allows retraction of the actuator. Removal of the actuator breaks two contacts and closes one. The breaking of the contacts ensure the machine cannot restart until the actuator is re-inserted and the contacts closed. A typical example of machine isolation and access, controlled through a safety relay, is shown below. |
